A chemical peel for lightening skin pigmentation, the Melanage Mini-Peel and Skin-Lightening System is used to treat melasma, sunspots, and uneven skin texture. It gives patients healthy, glowing, and clear skin.

Mini-Peel and Skin Lightening for Melasma

The Melanage Mini-Peel and Skin-Lightening System is useful to get rid of melasma on the skin. Melasma is a skin condition where brown or grayish-brown patches start to develop on the face, especially on the chin, cheeks, upper lips, nose, and forehead.

Although melasma can be found on the face of both men and women, it is more common for women, especially pregnant women. Melasma is also referred to as the “mask of pregnancy.”

The Melanage Treatment and Procedure

While the Full Melanage Peel is useful for treating the pigmentation on the face, the Mini-Peel is beneficial for treating the face as well as the neck and upper chest.

The Melanage mask, which is composed of retinoid and arbutin, is applied to the patient’s face, neck, and chest if required. This mask is freshly made at the time of the in-office procedure and takes about thirty minutes to be compounded.

Depending on the skin type, the mask will be allowed to remain on the face for six to ten hours. After that, the patient is free to remove the mask and does not need to stay in the office.

The Mini-Peel requires a series of four sessions that need to be performed at three-week intervals.

The Results That Follow Your Treatment

Once the treatment is complete, the patient may experience skin peeling, dryness, and redness of the skin. While the symptoms are like that of a sunburn, they are not painful and will last for about a week or two. However, it is necessary to avoid the sun immediately after the process and apply sunscreen every two hours in the future.

Once the treatment is complete, patients will experience significant improvement in skin texture. Patients will notice a new natural radiance in their skin, reduction of fine lines, and reduction in pigmentation and skin patches.

Is the Melanage Mini-Peel and Skin Lightening Right for You?
While the treatment is relatively painless and made for maximum comfort, it does cause skin sensitivity. People of any skin type and color can undergo this treatment.

If you have a severe sunburn, skin rashes, warts, dermatitis or inflammatory rosacea, or any open wounds on the face or cold sores, it is advisable not to opt for this treatment. The same goes for women who are either pregnant or breastfeeding.

Before undergoing the treatment, you will need to consult with Dr. Parker to understand your skin type and the number of treatments required to get rid of your skin issues.
