Thigh Lift

A thigh lift is a surgery that reshapes thighs by reducing excess skin and fat resulting in smoother skin and better-proportioned contours of the thighs. The thigh lift incisions and pattern vary based on the area or areas to be treated. For a medial thigh lift, the incisions are placed in the groin extending downward and wrapping around the back of the thigh. The incisions for an outer thigh lift start at the groin and extend upward and over the hip. Both types of incisions can usually be hidden by most types of clothing or swimsuits.

ABOUT PLASTIC SURGERY

Plastic surgery is a specialty that can be divided into two groups: cosmetic surgery and reconstructive surgery. Cosmetic surgery is performed to reshape normal body structures and improve a person’s appearance. These procedures may not be considered medically necessary, but are performed, instead, to increase a person’s confidence and self-esteem. Liposuction, breast augmentation and tummy tucks are some of the most popular types of cosmetic surgery.

Reconstructive surgery involves those procedures performed to correct abnormal body structures caused by birth defects, trauma, burns, infection or disease. These types of reconstructive surgery include breast reduction, breast reconstruction and treatment of skin cancers. Reconstructive surgery is usually covered by health insurance.
